Introducing — Termii Sandbox

Today, we’re announcing the release of the Termii Sandbox, which marks another key milestone in our mission to power customer messaging for the next generation of African technology businesses!

With the Sandbox, technical and business teams can quickly test the reliability and sustainability of our messaging products and services. This makes each session more engaging, results-oriented and facilitates trust in our messaging platform before committing to integration. In this post, I’ll describe the sandbox feature. You’ll also learn what the sandbox is and what the benefits are for you.

What is the purpose of the Sandbox?

In the context of the web, software development, and automation, a sandbox is a testing environment that isolates untested code changes and outright experimentation from the production environment or repository. It usually involves development and staging server which developers can use to upload code and test it as the codebase changes.

Termii’s Sandbox basically provides an environment for both technical and non-technical teams to test the suite of Termii’s products and services before, during, and after their integration, helping them build the trust it takes to make their decision to integrate our APIs faster.

For instance, a product manager comes across our platform, creates a free account, and is able to quickly test all our product features without initial contact or support from our team, and is assured that the platform will not fail even after integration. He is thereafter able to quickly verify the platform’s sustainability and convince his team this is the perfect fit for their communication needs.

Navigating the Sandbox

Once you log in to your Termii account, in the dashboard, you’ll find a new item in your sidebar, called Sandbox.

With this, we want to make it extremely easy for both technical and business teams, to see test the functionality and reliability of our products, before committing to a live integration, eliminating the need to spend hours integrating our service before the team has ensured everything works fine. Normal messaging fees are charged and no extra costs.

Free test credits are available for new signups

This is our first iteration of the Sandbox page. At the moment, you can:

  • Verify your customers by triggering a phone call that reads their code to them to test the functionality of the Voice OTP
  • Send test SMS to any number and see it deliver swiftly, to test the functionality of SMS

In the future, we’ll make it possible for you to engage your users by having a two-way conversation and sending templated messages to test the functionality of the WhatsApp channel. The Sandbox is a foundation for many future product features at Termii!
