Termii MCM, Oluwatomi Solanke Co-Founder, Trove Finance

Our MCM spotlight for today is, Oluwatomi Solanke, co-founder of Trove finance, a micro-investing platform that lets Nigerians invest in publicly traded US, Nigerian and Chinese stocks, government bonds and more.

Trove Finance is the latest venture for Oluwatomi and his team (founded in 2018). He has in the past worked as a volunteer of the Red Cross Organization in Lagos, where he observed there were thousands of missing Nigerian children lodged in various child care institutions and a million-plus people lodged in internally displaced camps (IDCs) who never got identified. To help identify and match all these people, with the help of a friend, Oluwatomi built WhoSpottedMe, a crowdsourced web-based application that utilizes Facial Recognition Technology and Artificial Intelligence to help in finding missing people. This application since it was launched, has received submissions from 12 states and has resulted in over a thousand data/names given to rescue agencies in Nigeria.

Oluwatomi, a graduate of Chemical Engineering from the University of Lagos Nigeria, is also co-founder of Dropbuddies, a Peer to Peer delivery startup based in Lagos State, Nigeria.

Recently, In 2019, Trove Finance secured funding from Ventures Platform to improve on its operations, a clear sign that he is doing something laudable and we are inspired by and proud of Oluwatomi and his team.
