Termii WCW, Ire Aderinokun is a self-taught Frontend Developer, co-founder, COO, and VP Engineering of BuyCoins

For our WCW feature today, we are inspired by Ire Aderinokun, a self-taught Frontend Developer and user interface Designer from Lagos, Nigeria. She is presently the co-founder, COO, and VP Engineering of BuyCoins (YC S2018), a cryptocurrency exchange for Africa. She has worked with eyeo, the company behind products like Adblock and Flattr and, building open-source code to create an improved internet. She is also the organizer for Frontstack, a conference for front-end engineering in Nigeria.

Ire is a Google professional, specializing within the core frontend technologies Html, CSS, and Javascript, but is however enthusiastic about all aspects of technology. She has written over a hundred articles on these topics on her blog where she has a mailing list of almost 3,000 subscribers, and frequently shares her knowledge through speaking at conferences around Africa and also the world.

Alongside these, she started a little scholarship program to sponsor Nigerian women to take a Udacity Nanodegree in a technology-related field of their alternative/choice. We celebrate Ire and are rooting for her as she fulfills her many dreams, one of which is to “build up the technical information of ladies in technology”.
